Our Forensic Reference checking philosophy is to ensure any risks with an appointment are mitigated as much as possible. The goal is to give you a clear and comprehensive insight into the person you are considering bringing into your organisation.

Digital Profile Analysis

After we understand the skills, knowledge, and experience you require for the role, we capture intelligence derived from industry, media, and company analysis along with an analysis of the individual’s entire non-social digital profile.


This check will uncover any potential risks or issues that you should be aware of and that you may wish to probe further with referees. It will also validate the information you have gathered throughout your process.

Company Performance & Media Analysis

Along with research insights provided throughout our process, we undertake an analysis of relevant companies where the candidate held a senior and impactful position.

 

This analysis may uncover trends and insights into performance outcomes (positive, negative, and that are worthy of further probing).

Referee Indentification

To avoid the variable of self-nominated referee bias, our approach will identify other potential referees in addition to those provided by the preferred candidate(s). This may include: The executives the individual would have reported to in key roles. The chair and board members who were in place, or who were appointed, during the individual’s tenure in an organisation. Any additional key stakeholders who would have had an influence or have an insight into the individual’s performance.


Under the Privacy Act, you are not able to approach anyone without approval from the candidate to do so. If there are non-self-nominated referees that the appointment panel would wish you to talk with, you will need to ask the candidate for their permission to contact them.
